Biomaterials Laboratory
In the Biomaterials Laboratory, biomaterials are produced and characterized.
- The surfaces of materials that are conductive or made conductive by coating can be displayed in 2D with desktop SEM in the magnification range of 10x – 100,000x
- With the electrospin instrument, structures in micro- and nano-fiber, matte, film, tubular form from polymeric solutions of synthetic or biological origin, e.g. wound dressing, nerve graft, artificial heart valve etc. are produced for various applications
- In addition to the in vitro production of various biomaterials from different classes such as synthetic stoichiometric hydroxyapatite, calcium phosphates (e.g. β-TCP), bioglass (e.g. 45S5), hydrogels, different bioinks for 3D bioprinting applications, composites, or isolation from biological tissues, in biomaterials and tissue engineering fields production of scaffolds is provided for hard/soft tissue regeneration applications
