Illumina NextSeq 500 is a high-throughput next-generation sequencing (NGS) system designed for medium-scale genome, transcriptome, and targeted sequencing studies. Using Illumina’s patented Sequencing by Synthesis (SBS) technology and innovative two-channel optical imaging technology, the system can generate up to 120 Gb of data and up to 800 million paired-end reads in a single run. Offering flexible capacity with different flow cell options, the device can be used in a wide range of applications such as whole-exome sequencing, whole-genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, targeted gene panel analyses, and epigenetic studies.
