Device Description
ORTE is a device that combines electrophoresis and gel documentation systems. Electrophoresis can be monitored through a window without the need for protective goggles. The entire electrophoresis process can be recorded, replayed, and examined. Agarose, low-melting agarose, and acrylamide gels can be used. DNA and RNA are stained before running with human-safe dyes such as SYBR Green or SYBR Gold, without the use of ethidium bromide. This allows the electrophoresis process to be monitored from beginning to end.
